When I try to repair a floppy disk with the registered version of Floppy Diskfix sometimes even after Floppy Diskfix lets me know that the floppy disk was repaired I still cannot ascess my data. Why does this happen? This does not happen with every floppy disk I try to repair.

This can happen because sometimes when a floppy disk has one or more bad sectors in certain areas of the floppy disk windows will show you the same error message when trying to read the floppy disk with the bad sectors as it does when the boot sector is corrupted or missing.

If there is any bad sectors in the Fat Table or root directory of the floppy disk then windows will show you the same error message when trying to read the floppy disk with the bad sectors as it does when the boot sector is corrupted or missing.

Floppy Diskfix does not check the floppy disk for bad sectors. Floppy Diskfix does not repair bad sectors on the floppy disk. Floppy Diskfix only repairs the boot sector on the floppy disk.

If you check the floppy disk for bad sectors first before trying to repair the floppy disk and our free program lets you know that there is one or more bad sectors on the floppy disk then repairing the boot sector on the floppy disk may not give you access to your files or may only give you access to some of your files on your floppy disk.

If you think a floppy disk that you are trying to repair has one or more bad sectors then you can use our free program to check and see if the floppy disk does have bad sectors. You will need to copy this free program to a floppy disk. Do not copy this free program to the floppy disk that your are trying to repair and wish to check for bad sectors. You need to copy this free program to a different floppy disk. You can find the free program at the url below.
